The Red-billed Leiothrix is ​​a small bird and one of the famous captive ornamental birds around the world. Leiothrix are also known as lovebirds because they always come in pairs. The two inseparable birds can make people feel the beauty of love.


Leiothrix is ​​mainly distributed in Bhutan, India, Vietnam and other regions. Their breeding season is from May to July, and females lay about 3 to 4 eggs per litter.


The feathers of Leiothrix are gorgeous and the visual enjoyment is high. Leiothrix includes Tremella Leiothrix and Red-billed Leiothrix. Although they are both Leiothrix, their shapes still have some differences. 


Tremella Leiothrix has a beautiful voice and beautiful feathers, so they are loved by many families. In contrast, the calls of the Red-billed Leiothrix are not as melodious as the white fungus Leiothrix, but they are not ignored because the feather color of the Red-billed Leiothrix is ​​more gorgeous than other birds, so bird lovers don't care too much about their monotonous voice.


Red-billed Leiothrix will build their nests in bushes or bamboo bushes in the forest. Moss, grass stems, grass leaves, leaves, bamboo leaves, bark, grass roots, etc. are the main materials for their nesting. They usually live in small flocks of about 3 to 10 members in a group.


Red-billed Leiothrix has a lively and daring personality, often jumping and flying around in the trees. Red-billed Leiothrix is ​​very good at singing, often standing on branches and flapping its wings.


The calls of the males are variable and clear and pleasant, while the calls of the females are very low and monotonous "squeaks". Insects such as caterpillars and beetles are their main food, and they also eat plant foods such as plant fruits and seeds.
