Peach Tea is just what you need this Summer! It’s the perfect cold drink made with a combination of homemade peach syrup and freshly brewed iced tea. Peach tea is popular drink served in many restaurants in the South. Not only is it easy to make, but it’s so tasty!


This peach tea recipe is so easy to make and so delicious that you’ll want to make it all Summer long. It’s best served chilled with lots of ice, and you can throw in some frozen peach slices, too. The best part is that you can make this tea sweet or unsweetened. It’s completely up to you!


How to Make Peach Tea:


Pour the frozen peaches, sugar, and 1 cup of water into a large pan.


Cook over medium heat until the sugar is completely dissolved, and the peaches soften. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, then remove from heat.


Pour the mixture through a mesh sieve.


While the peach syrup cooks, brew some tea in a separate pan.


Both the peach syrup and the freshly brewed tea can be placed in the refrigerator to cool, or they can be used immediately.


Place some ice cubes, water, and peach slices in a large drink pitcher.


Pour in the peach syrup, then add brewed tea.


Stir to combine. Serve in individual glasses with plenty of ice and frozen peach slices.


Peach Tea Tips and Variations:


Make it Sugar-Free!: Our peach tea recipe can be adapted to a sugar-free version simply by leaving out the sugar. When you make the peach syrup, just omit the sugar and cook down the peaches in the water. The peaches will still flavor the water, but it won’t be sweet from granulated sugar.


Change the Flavor: Peach tea is a common flavor in many Southern restaurants, but some other great options are raspberry, passion fruit, hibiscus, and blackberry.


Store Bought Syrup: If you don’t have time to make the peach syrup, purchase a bottle of premade, peach flavored syrup. They’re usually available in regular (sweetened) and sugar-free (still sweet but with a sweetener). Add the syrup to taste to the pitcher or to individual glasses.


Use Fresh Peaches: Use fresh peaches, in place of frozen. If you can find fresh peaches, grab 2 or 3 for the syrup. Those will taste amazing!


Optional: The frozen peach slices in the individual glasses are optional and can be omitted. I love to use them, because they keep the tea cold and are a nice touch, but they aren’t necessary.


Storage Recommendations:


Room Temperature: We do not recommend storing peach iced tea at room temperature.


Refrigerator: Peach tea should be stored in the refrigerator and leftovers discarded after 8 hours.


Freezer: We do not recommend freezing peach iced tea.
