Taiwan boasts a wealth of tourism resources, from its stunning underwater world to its high mountain forests.

Each month, the island hosts various exhibitions, music festivals, and traditional festivals, but the most beautiful scenery in Taiwan can be found in its people. Rich in humanistic style and steeped in history, cities such as Tainan, Lugang, and Daxi have gained popularity.

While Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung offer bustling cityscapes, Taitung and Kenting are perfect for vacation-style and leisure time, exuding the relaxed vibe that Taiwan is famous for. With different places and diverse ways to play, Taiwan's natural resources offer charm and appeal.

Here are some of the top destinations to visit in Taiwan:

1. Taipei 101

Although it's no longer the tallest building in the world, Taipei 101 remains one of the most impressive structures in Taiwan. The building's 728 tons of mass dampers have enabled it to withstand numerous earthquakes, making it a remarkable piece of engineering. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of the city from various locations within the building.

2. Taipei National Palace Museum

Home to one of the largest collections of Chinese royal artifacts, the National Palace Museum in Taipei offers a glimpse into the past of the Chinese Empire. It is one of the top three museums in China and was ranked 18th in the world by the World Theme Entertainment Association TEA and AECOM in June 2019.

3. Penghu Islands

Named after the surging sea outside the harbor and the tranquil water inside the harbor, the Penghu Islands are located in the western part of Taiwan, in the Taiwan Strait. With 64 islands in the southeastern part of the Taiwan Strait, the main islands are Penghu Main Island, Yukon Island, and Baisha Island. The islands are the main shipping point of eastern Asia and are known as the "southeast key."

4. Kenting Street

Located in Hengchun Township, Pingtung County, Kenting Street Night Market is a famous snack street in Taiwan. Known as the "West Gate Town of Southern Taiwan," Kenting Street is bustling with activity every night. The street is decorated with neon lights, creating a lively atmosphere filled with swimmers and tourists in beachwear. Dance halls and food stalls line the street, making it a must-visit spot for many people who travel to Kenting.
