When we embarked on our recent trip to Toronto, we knew we were in for a treat. As Canada’s largest city, Toronto offers a vibrant mix of culture, history, and modern attractions that make it a must-visit destination.
From iconic landmarks to unique experiences, our time in this bustling metropolis was nothing short of fantastic.
Discovering the CN Tower
Our adventure began at the CN Tower, one of Toronto's most recognizable landmarks. Standing at 553 meters, this engineering marvel offers breathtaking views of the city and beyond. We were particularly thrilled to experience the EdgeWalk, an exhilarating hands-free walk on a narrow ledge around the tower's top. For a slightly more relaxed experience, the SkyPod provides panoramic views from the highest observation level. Tickets for the CN Tower cost around CAD 43 for adults, with the EdgeWalk priced at CAD 195. It’s worth noting that the CN Tower is open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM, with extended hours in the summer.
Exploring the Royal Ontario Museum
Next on our list was the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM), a treasure trove of natural history and world cultures. The museum’s striking modern architecture is as impressive as the exhibits inside. We marveled at the dinosaur skeletons, ancient artifacts, and the diverse collections of art and culture from around the globe. General admission is CAD 23 for adults, and the ROM is open daily from 10 AM to 5:30 PM, with extended hours on Fridays until 8:30 PM.
Strolling Through the Distillery District
For a taste of Toronto’s historic charm, we wandered through the Distillery District. This pedestrian-only village is filled with beautifully preserved Victorian-era buildings that now house boutique shops, art galleries, and trendy restaurants. We enjoyed some delicious local fare at one of the district's many eateries and took in the vibrant street art and seasonal markets. The Distillery District is open daily, and there’s no admission fee to explore the area.

A Cultural Encounter at Kensington Market
Kensington Market was another highlight of our trip. This eclectic neighborhood is a melting pot of cultures and cuisines. From quirky shops to diverse street food, there’s something for everyone here. We savored the best tacos and pastries, and picked up unique souvenirs. Kensington Market is a vibrant area best explored on foot, and it's lively throughout the week.
Resting at the One King West Hotel
To make our stay as enjoyable as our adventures, we booked a room at the One King West Hotel, located conveniently in the heart of downtown Toronto. This historic hotel, with its elegant architecture and modern amenities, provided a luxurious retreat after our days of exploration. The hotel offers spacious rooms and exceptional service, with rates starting at approximately CAD 250 per night. Its central location made it easy for us to access major attractions and local dining options.
